About Us

In 2017 I did an exchange semester in Portugal. I enjoyed one of the best times in my life. But there was one problem:

As an enthusiastic cyclists, I wanted to ride a bike even during my time abroad, so I decided to buy myself one, which I would then sell at the end of my stay.

Finding out from other people what stress and financial loss the reselling of a bike implies and discovering that many of my colleagues actually lost their bicycles to bike-thieves because they didn't also invest in a proper lock, I just gave up.

Later, upon my arrival back home in Austria, I had the idea: why buy a bike when you could rent it? Why accept the compromise of low quality or a stressed budget? That is why I founded BIKESLY: to help future exchange students but also expats and other people that could benefit from it.

The BIKESLY team includes now already two dedicated partners as well: Ioana, 25, Head of Technology and Gernot, 31, our Digital Consultant.

Our aim is to provide you with stylish and qualitative bikes for an affordable monthly rate. We are constantly trying to improve our service, so if you have any suggestions for us we would be more than happy if you leave us a message on Instagramm, Facebook or via E-mail (office@bikesly.eu).

The intention of BIKESLY is to make your time in a new city as comfortable and at the same time as exciting as possible. We think that mobility is a major aspect of our lives, no matter where we are. Our desire is to enable everyone to enjoy the pleasure of cycling as carefree as possible. Cycling is the ultimate form of mobility, it is a cure for the environment as well as for your body and soul.

Another reason behind the creation of BIKESLY is the community. It is our hope to connect like-minded people through the power of cycling and maybe even friendships will derive from these connections.

Last, but not least sustainability is our main priority. Therefore we purchase our bikes only from suppliers nearby and we want to make sure that they are being used by as many people as possible. Together we can have an impact.
